We were traveling through rural Eastern Colorado with a heavy storm rolling in. Looking over to the east were a pair of rainbows, if that wasn’t unique enough, lightning was also striking down, mostly in the same spot. I quickly pulled over, grabbed my camera gear out of the back of the car, and took probably upwards of 30 exposures before I finally timed it right to actually capture a lightning bolt strike down – all during moderately heavy rain.
